I.W. "ITZY" FIRESTONE (Benjamin)has been an active member of the Folksbiene since 1976. He was thrilled to play the chauvinistic father in last spring's Di Ksube "The Marriage Contract". He has enjoyed many roles here, including Gimpel in the Next Dorike, Shneyerson in It's Hard To Be a Jew, Harry in Broome Street America, with the late great Zipora Spaisman. On the American Stage he has done many roles Off Broadway and in regional theatres including Fagin in Oliver, Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls and Artie Shaugnessy in John Guares' House of Blue Leaves. He studied acting with Uta Hagan and he is a graduate of Circle in the Square Theatre School.


LISA FISHMAN (Troubador) has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe - starring in Off-Broadway and Regional Musical Theater, soloing with many of the great artists in Jewish music, singing and recording with Chicago's "Maxwell Street Klezmer Band" and "The Modern Klezmer Quartet", as well as recording and performing her own original music. Theater credits include the Drama Desk nominated, Off-Broadway sensation, On Second Avenue, starring Mike Burstyn, Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Nancy in Oliver, Fanny Brice & Emma Goldman in Tintypes, the chanteuse in Ghetto Cabaret, and leading lady in Bruce Adler, A,B,C. Lisa can be heard singing Sheyn Vi Di Levone, in the 2003 film, Dummy, starring Academy Award winner, Adrien Brody, Illeana Douglas and Milla Jovovich. Lisa's work in Jewish music also includes her own original musical act, The Lisa Fishman Jewish Experience, in which she performs updated versions of Jewish standards.

MICHAEL L.HARRIS (Shimmel)is thrilled that his Off-Broadway debut is helping sustain Yiddish language and culture, about which he cares deeply and which inspired
him to spend two months in ‘kovne-vilna,’ where his character (and his great-grandfather) came from. Mit nakhes un freilekhs shpielt er likoved di alle liebers fun

DANI MARCUS (Maggie) made her Folksbiene debut as Malke (Mabel) in The Pirates of Penzance. She went on to appear in A Yiddish Vaudeville starring Bruce Adler and Di Ksube directed by Motl Didner. Most recently Dani appeared in The Musical of Musicals the Musical! and a co-production of Paul Gordon’s Emma at The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. Dani was recently nominated for a Kevin Kline Award for her performance as Harriet Smith in Emma.


STUART MARSHALL (Cornelius) has performed with the Folksbiene in: Di Yam Gazlonim, The House of Love and Prayer and Yentl. Other Off-Broadway: The Rise of Dorothy Hale, Picon Pie, Trolls, A Stoop on Orchard Street, Shuberts’ Alley. Off-Off-Broadway: Proof, The Locket, A Broadway Story. Regional Theatre highlights: The Odd Couple, The Fantasticks, Fiddler on the Roof, Man of La Mancha, Phantom and Pocahontas. Television: The Sopranos, Law & Order, HBO’s Actual Joke Ten to One. Film: The Stepford Wives, Catch Me If You Can, Enchanted, The Brave One. HARRY PEERCE (Marty) has been seen in such stage productions as Star Spangled Girl (directed by screenwriting guru Robert McKee), Grandma Sylvia’s Funeral (married to Mary Wilson of The Supremes), When Ya Comin’ Back, Red Ryder, Black Snow and the Folksbiene’s Gimpel Tam. He’s also done several episodes of Law & Order. Harry loves improvisation having studied with Paul Sills and Del Close at Second City. A well known voice over artist he can be heard in such films as Mad Max, A Stranger Among Us, Once Upon a Time in America, Sleepy Hollow and The Sixth Sense.


TONY PERRY (Joseph) has been seen on the New York stage in A Shelter in Our Car, Repo: The Genetic Opera, The Elf, The Bunny and the Big Xmas Blowup and the workshop of Hell’s Kitchen: The Musical. Among his favorite roles are Big Moe in Five Guys Named Moe, Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show, Parchester in Me and My Girl and Jim in Big River. He has three CDs available at www.tonyperry.com. He is a student of George DiCenzo, is a proud member of Actors Equity and is thrilled to be making his Folksbiene debut.


SUZANNE TOREN (Judith) is delighted to be back at the
Folksbiene, where she co-starred with I.W. “Itzy” Firestone in last year’s Di Ksube and has participated in numerous readings and outreach programs. Regional: Paper Mill Playhouse (Great Expectations, A Tale of Two Cities), Philadelphia Drama Guild (A View from the Bridge), Pennsylvania Stage Company (Brighton Beach Memoirs), Syracuse Stage (The Seagull ).
